My latest take-home is a really cute little Pioneer SA-500. It sounded great at first, but as I tried out various types of music, I started noticing distortion on one channel, particular on bass notes and at higher volumes. At first, it actually sounded like a torn speaker cone, so I swapped channels and the distortion moved to the other.

I was on the prowl for vintage amps here in the UK and stumbled across this cheap Pioneer SA-500A amplifier, very basic and unassuming looking thing but I dont know why I took a liking to it. ยฃ30/$40 it cost me which is cheap for UK vintage retail. Fully working.
